Skagit Valley Food Co-op presents Daryl Deitz, watercolor
Daryl was born and raised in the Skagit Valley. Spending much of his youth camping and fishing in the Northwest, he learned to admire and respect the nature around him. He started drawing at an early age and began to combine his love of nature with his passion for art.
Over the years, Daryl has won the “Best of Show” for the years 2007 and 2008 at the annual Tulip Festival‘s “Art in a Pickle Barn” art exhibit and in 2009 the 1st place winner of the Stanwood/Camano Art Guild’s Spring Art Show plus the winner of their fourth annual Port Susan Snow Goose & Birding Festival poster contest.
Cheryl uses photographs to capture local images she then renders in watercolors. Many of those images have been integrated into a line of greeting cards representing works created from 2005 to 2015.
Opens Thursday, October 1, 2015, 5-8 pm.
